Hi there! My name is Dr. La Niña Hill-Dorchy. I am a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern (RMHCI) with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision.
My therapeutic style is warm, respectful, and collaborative. My approach is trauma-informed and tailored to your needs, empowering you as the expert in your own life and providing practical tools for lasting change. Therapy with me is a nonjudgmental space where you can show up exactly as you are without pressure or shame!
To support your personal growth and well-being, I use a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches tailored to your individual needs. My clinical experience includes integrating some of the following modalities: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which helps you identify and change problematic or harmful thoughts and behaviors; Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), which focuses on building skills to manage emotions and improve relationships; Person-centered therapy, which emphasizes empathy, acceptance, and empowering you as the expert in your own life; and Motivational Interviewing, which supports you in exploring and strengthening your motivation for change.
I specialize in working with trauma, children and teens, substance abuse concerns, autism spectrum disorder, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and those struggling with career-related transitions or stressors.
